Title Sequence Ideas

Title Sequence Ideas:
In todays lesson, we started brainstorming ideas for the title sequence of our film idea.  As a group we decided to base our film title sequence on thematic ideas rather than focusing on the narrative side. Once the title sequence has been watched, we want the audience to have a idea of what the film is about through the hint and clues given within the clip.

Title Sequence

Location
The location of the title sequence is going to be filmed within a old apartment/house as it’s the main thematic about our film. Each clip will be filmed within different locations of the house but extreme close up so it doesn’t give away the identify of the person and the house itself.

Idea

The key thematic ideas of the film are:
·      The apartment/House
·      Identity lost – Passports, Credit Cards, Newspapers, and Photos.
·      Paranormal Presence in the house
·      Diary

During the title sequence we want to include most of the thematic based around the film.

We had ideas of starting off with a clip of the old door and the door number there ‘26’ and a hand comes into the clip and pushes the door open of the house which is the main aspect of the film.

Once inside, we want to use close up on parts of the body of the person looking round the house doesn’t give away the identity of the person. Linking within the theme of his lost identity when he was child.

The diary is a key aspect in the film, which is what the person is looking for, the diary is open on a desk and flicks through the pages revealing clues of the film in what’s it about. For example, photos of the family witch she never knew, passports credit cards. All these are key aspects of the theme of his lost identity and his lost family history.

Editing:
During the cut scenes of each clip we want them to gradually get shorter and shorter when the flash back from the person to dairy. So therefore it builds up pace to the sequence through short and quick shots so it creates excitement, tension and suspense for the audience to link in with in the horror genre of our film.

The music we have ideas for which we are going to use is a spooky background soundtrack, and then paranormal sounds start gradually joining together to build suspense to fit in within the short clips of the soundtrack as they get faster.
The music will get faster and louder to build suspense and random bangs and etc. to hint towards to paranormal side to our film about the evil presence in the house.

The lighting of the film will be mainly dark to create a tense atmosphere for the audience. We were thinning to start the film more light and as the sequence goes on, it gradually gets darker to suggest the presence is trapping her and end with a bright open shot to suggest she reborn again after she found out everything about her family.
